Trump’s Inauguration and my January Musings
January has been nothing short of eventful, and on the world stage, nothing stood out more than the historic inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. This was more than just a political event—it was a powerful demonstration of divine preservation, resilience, and destiny.
When I reflect on Trump’s return to the presidency, I can’t help but think of Joshua 1:3:
“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.”
Trump’s political journey has been nothing short of miraculous. Against all odds, despite opposition, legal battles, media attacks, and even an assassination attempt, he emerged victorious. His return to the White House is proof that when God ordains something, no force can stop it. Many have since acknowledged that there was an invisible hand guiding, preserving, and ultimately enthroning him. I couldn’t agree more.
Much like Joshua, who had to step forward with courage to claim the land God had promised, Trump has exemplified determination and unwavering boldness. It was clear to see that his presidency was not merely a result of human effort but a fulfilment of something greater at play.
One of the most striking aspects of Trump’s return has been his immediate bold policy actions, signalling a course correction for the nation. Among his key executive orders:
- Rescinding Radical Policies: On day one, Trump revoked 78 executive orders from the previous administration, shifting America’s trajectory back to foundational values.
- Defending Religious Freedom: His administration has already taken strong steps to combat anti-Semitism and protect people of faith.
- Ending DEI Indoctrination: Trump has rolled back radical diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates that promoted division rather than unity.
- Recognizing Two Genders: Trump has reaffirmed the belief in two biological genders, ensuring that policies do not compromise the Godly understanding of gender in areas like healthcare and education.
- Ending Funding for Gender Realignment Surgery for Minors: Trump has ended funding for gender realignment surgeries for minors, along with restricting access to gender transitioning procedures for young people. This decision aligns with his belief in safeguarding children’s welfare and protecting them from irreversible choices.
- Curbing LGBTQ+ Policies: Trump has rolled back policies that promoted LGBTQ+ agendas in schools and public institutions, ensuring that the rights of parents and religious freedoms are respected in decisions affecting children and families.
- Defending the Unborn: Reinstating pro-life policies to protect the sanctity of life.
- Strengthening Ties with Israel: Trump has reaffirmed America’s unwavering support for Israel, pledging continued cooperation and ensuring the nation remains protected amidst regional threats. His administration is already working to expand peace agreements in the Middle East, further solidifying Israel’s security and prosperity.
These actions are not just political moves—they are a spiritual battle. America had drifted away from its core values, and this shift represents a rolling back of the darkness that had settled over the nation.
Seeing all of this unfold has reminded me how crucial it is to remain in touch with God. It’s not enough to gain territory—we must dedicate it back to Him. This can only be achieved by understanding what God desires and how He wants a particular territory to be governed.
This is exactly what Abraham did wherever he went. Abraham’s first act in every new place was to build an altar. This was more than just an act of worship—it was a declaration that this place belongs to God. By doing this, he established that God’s ways must prevail there and that the land would not be used for anything that opposed God’s will. It was a dedication that no other influence—no other ideology, power, or agenda—would rule over that place except God’s.
This principle remains true today. Leadership is not just about gaining influence, it is about dedicating that influence to serve God’s purposes. Whether in politics, business, or personal endeavours, every position we step into must become an altar—a place where God’s authority is recognized and His ways are upheld.
This year, I want to follow that example. To remain deeply connected to God, to cultivate my own “altar”—a place where I continuously invite His presence into everything I do. Because at the end of the day, the kingdom of God suffers violence, and only those who pursue it with intensity will truly lay hold of it.
Final Thoughts
As we move forward this year, may we:
✔️ Be courageous like Joshua—stepping into what God has given us.
✔️ Remain resilient like Trump—standing firm despite opposition.
✔️ Lead like Abraham—dedicating every victory back to God so that His ways prevail.
