Beyond The Ballot : Kingdom Appointments In a Political World

As Uganda’s 2026 elections draw closer, I find myself asking: Are we, as the Body of Christ, any more prepared than we were in the past?

Political terrain continues to shift with national leadership transitions, parliamentary debates intensifying, and local government battles unfolding. New faces rise while old systems fight to remain. But beneath it all, one truth remains unmoved: there are only two camps. Always have been. Always will be.

God’s camp. And the Devil’s. Nothing in between.

This is not just about state houses and presidential seats. It’s about every level of influence. Whether the platform is national or local, the question remains the same: Whose agenda is being advanced?

While some representatives are easy to read, others are subtle—smooth operators like David—unexpected, yet divinely positioned. These are the ones who don’t just hold office but carry a fire to align territories to God’s way. They may not always be popular, but they are purposeful. They carry Kingdom assignment at their very core.

And here’s the key: for any win to truly count in God’s eyes, it must be a win for His Kingdom. Not for personal ambition.

A truth often missed in many circles , politics inclusive, and one that we must grasp, is that in Kingdoms, positions aren’t in fact voted for—they are appointed.

God isn’t moved by popularity polls. He doesn’t wait for social media trends. He appoints. He anoints. He establishes leaders according to divine purpose, not human preference.

David was never elected by the people—he was chosen by God and anointed by Prophet Samuel. Not the most obvious candidate. Not the people’s choice, but Heaven’s strategy.

And while he was far from perfect, he was aligned with God. He ruled with reverence, fought for God, and when he fell, he was quick to repent. He was described as a man after God’s heart, and this is what made him effective in leadership and pleasing to God.

In 2026 and beyond, God is not evaluating how skillfully we played politics or how passionately we defended our positions. He’s searching for hearts that beat with His Kingdom, lives that are surrendered, and leaders who understand that their authority is a weapon in God’s hand.

It’s either a win for God’s camp or a win for the contender—and we are in it to win it for the glory of God. There is no neutral ground in Kingdom matters.

So let this year find you decided—whether you’re running for office, voting in your district, influencing policy, or interceding behind the scenes.

Because eternity will not remember how loud your rhetoric was or what excuse you gave to stay passive in the face of injustice. It will remember whose side you were truly on.

Choose your camp intentionally. Choose it with eternal perspective. Because in the end, only one camp will stand.
